Engine Repair
Repair of serious damage to a cruise ship's medium speed engine that was literally ripped apart. Repair of this engine by Danica Diesel saved the ship owner millions of dollars and was accepted by Classification Societies, even though before the repair the engine maker had initially condemned the engine block and crankshaft. (The owner's alternative was to purchase a new engine block and crankshaft and cut a hole in the ship's side for access.)
We were working with a machining tolerance of 0.002mm/m.
